Brand Licensing Opportunities

Northeast Mountaineering or Beyond Basecamp

A licensing agreement authorizes a company that markets a product or service (a licensee) to lease or rent a brand from a brand owner who operates a licensing program (a licensor). Companies who know their brands well will have a good understanding of the equity of the brand. A brand’s equity is derived from the awareness and image a brand holds with its consumers.

Legal: Any legal council is secured and paid by the licensee.
Liability: Licensee is responsible for securing the necessary Liability Insurance to cover their event, product, other.
Permitting: Licensee is responsible for securing the necessary permits to gain authority to legally operate.

Licensing Fees: Ten percent [10%] of total revenue is paid to Northeast Mountaineering, LLC for the use of the NEM or Beyond Basecamp brand and audience.

Revenues: All revenues and registrations to be done via Licensee services with licensing fees and photographic and/or editorial assets due to NEM within seven [7] days of completion.

What This Means For Partner: By Licensing the Northeast Mountaineering and/or Beyond Basecamp brand you can expect Northeast Mountaineering and it’s agents to help promote your event and engage our audience for your profit. You are able to set prices, market and operate under your best discretion. You must maintain a professional standard and operate legally, ethically and morally as a representative of the NEM and BB brands. You must carry liability insurance, when necessary. This option maximizes earning potential but requires upfront investment of time, effort and money to establish yourself/team as a legally viable entity.

Northeast Mountaineering Sponsored Events

An NEM sponsored event is funded and organized in full or partial. Ambassadors are encouraged to brainstorm and pitch ideas and request funding to support the cause. Available by request only and approval is not guaranteed.

Legal: Any legal council is secured and paid by Northeast Mountaineering.
Liability: NEM is responsible for securing the necessary Liability Insurance to cover their event, product, other.
Permitting: NEM is responsible for securing the necessary Permits to gain authority to legally operate.

Revenues: All revenues and registrations to be done via Northeast Mountaineering services.
Compensation: NEM to determine pay rate, commission, etc. for each organizer, instructor, agent per event, product other. Disbursements to partners and agents paid in full within seven [7] days of completion.

What This Means For Partner: By operating under the Northeast Mountaineering and Beyond Basecamp insurance policies and permits, we must adhere to the restrictions and guidelines of each – most likely requiring that an NEM guide be part of the leadership team and accompany you at all times. This may be excessive at times [in which case, a licensing opportunity may be recommended]. Many other times, it will be an asset to have a medically and technically trained member/leader of the team. You must maintain a professional standard and operate legally, ethically and morally as a representative of the NEM and BB brands. We carry liability insurance for you to use as a rider. There is little investment on your end in this scenario but profits are determined by NEM at what we determine as fair compensation rates.

Collaborative Partnerships

A collaborative partnership is when a group works together in a joint intellectual endeavor that pools common interests, assets, and professional skills in order to promote broader goals and outcomes for the entire group’s benefit.

Legal: Any legal council is split and paid by collaborating entities.
Liability: Liability insurance is determined on per event basis. Some collaborative partnerships may fit under the NEM insurance policy. Other will require additional policies.
Permitting: Permits are determined on per event basis. Some collaborative partnerships may fit under the NEM permits. Other will require additional policies.

Revenues: Revenues and registrations are determined on per event basis. Disbursements of profits are shared between the collaborating entities on a pre-negotiated basis. Typical profit share is 80/20 for partnerships that utilize the NEM business platform.

What This Means For Partner: Collaborative Partnerships is what Beyond Basecamp is all about. Developing an inclusive community that supports each other’s endeavors to maximize our voice and deliver the message. If the restrictions and guidelines of our insurance policies and permits allow, then NEM will provide services. In which case, we will act as an NEM Sponsored Event with profit sharing. If our permits do not fit the need, then we will explore other options.

Retail Sales and Distribution Agreements

Sales and distribution deals with other retailers wherein one party agrees to sell the goods of the other. Retails items are purchased at wholesale prices and sold at retail. Supplier may offer a line of credit if deemed appropriate.

Revenues: Revenues are collected by the seller and disbursements are made to wholesaler as pre-negotiated rate.
